ERICA campus

Image
If you look at the campus as a whole, it's a well-made campus. The reason for this is that first, there are benches or terraced seats in the lake park, so there is a good space to talk or rest while looking at the lake. In addition, there is an appropriate shade, so it is a space that people use a lot. In addition, trash cans are also provided in the right place, so a clean environment is created by not indiscriminately throwing away trash.  Second, students can eat or lie down on a mat at a grass park next to a sports university. In spring, there is a cherry blossom road right in front of you, so it is a place where many students gather.  Lastly, there are many landmarks such as Agora Square in the main gate, Lion Statue in front of the main building, and Hayang Garden, making it easy for people to meet in certain places.   However, despite being in the most accessible space in the school, the Democratic Square in front of the welfare center tends to attract almos...

Erica campus 0510

I think our campus is well designed. The teaching building and dormitories are separated, with rest areas and study areas. There are many plants on campus, and the cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn are both beautiful.    There is a fountain in the center, and the flow of water makes the Lion's Lake a resting area in the middle of the study area. There are also many chairs, benches, swings, and deck chairs here. Every time after class, many students rest in this space.    Including teaching buildings, each building has a study room for students to sit down. The effective capacity of our school is also large enough, and the stadium can accommodate enough students during celebrations.   To make the campus better, I don’t think it’s feasible to add vendors. Perhaps adding some indoor plants can add comfort and connection to the school space. There are also some street designs, artworks or murals to add color and artistic atmosphere t...

Is our Campus well designed?

Hanyang ERICA campus has special difference campared to other Korean universities. ERICA is under constructed on the flat area. As you know, more than 70% of Korea land is mountainous. This large plain site is very rare. and most of the campus area is very well designed. like cherryblossom road, lion's lake, Hanyang dong-san that opened last week, People although, not the student can use the areas. Well made area makes people gather in. The campus has many buildings.  But each builing is pretty far from each other. it seems little bit lonley for me. Look empty and sometimes it feel too far that I feel uncomfortable. Some class which is in opposite classroom, I have to run. The dormitory is too far away. If I go to dormitory by walk from Communication and Social Sciences Hall, it will take for more than 20 miniutes. So What I recomends is, this campus's buildings have to be more closer. Especially the dormitory is no needs to be that far. So I put those more closer. and ...

Is ERICA campus well designed?

Image
We think the ERICA campus is well built. The large area of the school allows many people to move comfortably, and there are benches and lawns between the schools so that people can rest at any time. Also, most crucially, although it is an artificial lake, we think the biggest advantage is that a large fountain has been installed so that people can talk to each other and work around it. Also, as you can see in the picture, there are many things that people can enjoy, such as lantern exhibitions and music performances, in Lake Park. According to Whyte's theory, the space on the street is pleasant, and there is a space where people can rest around the lake fountain, so it is well designed. It's still well designed enough, but to add an additional idea, we thought it would be nice to create an additional park where people from far away can also enjoy it.

5.3 Street design

Image
This is the street I designed, it's a pedestrian street There are very many trees on either side of the road, and flower beds of different shapes, benches in the middle of the flower beds and trees, and people can sit and enjoy flowers or rest and eat. There is a directional mark at the top right of the screen. There are cafes, restaurants, clothing stores, gift shops, etc. on the right side of the road, the door is facing south, so that the sun can fully shine into the store, people like to drink coffee and shopping in such stores. There are also public toilets that are convenient for shoppers. On the left side of the street are subway stations, office buildings, banks, and rental agencies, all of which are more practical shops and buildings. The people who work in the office building can easily meet the needs of renting, storing money and so on.Such buildings as office buildings generally have doors facing north and windows facing south, and can also have a lot of sunlight.
