On the day of the observation experiment, I intentionally disconnected from all electronic devices. Fortunately, I had borrowed a watch from a friend beforehand, which allowed me to keep track of time and manage my activities. The absence of electronic devices had a profound impact on my daily routine and overall experience.

Initially, I attempted to maintain my usual activities, but found it challenging to concentrate without the presence of electronics. I started my day by doing housework and cleaning every corner of my home. Despite feeling like I had spent a significant amount of time on these tasks, I was surprised to discover that only half an hour had passed. This early realization of time moving slowly made me feel restless and unsure of how to fill the remaining hours of the day.

As I transitioned to studying, the absence of my computer made the process less convenient. I resorted to writing my assignments in a notebook, a method I hadn't used extensively since my school days. Interestingly, this manual approach helped me focus better on my work. Without the constant distraction of electronic notifications, I found myself more immersed in the task at hand. This increased concentration continued even when I later used a computer for other assignments, demonstrating that the temporary disconnection had a lasting positive effect on my ability to focus.

Around noon, I decided to go shopping, unaware of the weather conditions due to my inability to check the forecast online. As a result, I underestimated the temperature outside and had to return home to fetch a coat. This inconvenience highlighted how reliant I had become on electronic devices for basic information.

In the afternoon, without the usual electronic distractions, I became acutely aware of the passage of time. To avoid boredom, I actively sought out new activities to engage in. I realized that without access to instant information, many of my assumptions had to guide my decisions. This reliance on guesswork added an element of unpredictability and inefficiency to my day.

By the evening, with no electronic devices to occupy my time, I opted to go to bed earlier than usual. This change in routine underscored how electronic devices often contribute to late-night habits and reduced sleep quality.

Reflecting on this experience, I believe that the absence of electronic devices can indeed enhance our focus and discourage unhealthy late-night routines. However, in the 21st century, electronic devices are deeply integrated into our daily lives and are essential for many tasks. Their absence can significantly disrupt work, study, and communication with family and friends. Therefore, while it is crucial to recognize the benefits of occasional disconnection, we must also acknowledge the indispensable role of electronic devices. The key lies in using them rationally and maintaining a balanced approach to technology in our lives.
