Classroom Questions MAY.20
Q1: Do you think technological capabilities determine a country's power and influence? Is it true to the past? What about the future?
A1: I believe that technological capabilities determine the power and influence of a country. Because it enhances economic competitiveness and promotes social development. Today should be unreal to the past. It would be difficult for people in the past to imagine that we are sitting in the classroom and using multimedia to teach. People in the future may be able to study courses at home, but they will also find the current situation unreal. Technology will develop better and better.
Q2: Do you think that different communication mediums (technologies) evoke different responses? Is seeing something different from hearing or reading about it? Are you more likely to care about something if you see it compared to just reading about it?
A2: I think different communication mediums elicit different responses. Visual content elicits fast and strong emotional responses and captures attention quickly. The reading content is more suitable for in-depth reading and understanding. I think seeing it would draw my attention more, like I would be emotionally involved in a touching movie, but I might not be as moved if I were listening to a friend tell the story.
